Have a sewing machine just sitting around? Do you want to make some clothes, costumes or home decor? Don't know where to start? Bring your machine (if you have one - if you don't, you can use ours). We'll discuss the machine's operations, how to read patterns, fabric and more. If you have fabric, feel free to bring it. If you have a pattern you're interested in, bring that, too! This is a 2- hour class. A follow-up session is available for$40.

Learn the basics of Slow stitching, an improvisational take on traditional embroidery. Slow stitching is just that. A time to slow down and enjoy the whimsey of stitching while creating your own unique slow stitch piece. Basic embroidery knowledge is recommended but not required. Weaving 101

Learn to weave on a 16" Rigid Heddle Loom. Students will learn how to warp the loom and create two cotton spa cloths Beginning weaving is a two-session class with four hours of instruction. Learn the basics of weaving and create a small project. Class is $150 plus yarn (which is discounted during class and which will be discussed at the first class). The class fee includes $50 loom rental. Cost of loom rental can be applied toward cost of loom at end of class.

Embroidery 101

Grab a needle, hoop, fabric and thread and get ready to relax with some slow stitching. Class is 3 hours long and you will learn 9 basic embroidery stitches and will make a Sampler Piece. Beginner level $50 class fee. Materials discounted 10% during class.
